Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Security Policy

South Cotabato Integrated Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI) is a cargo handling Operator Company with a vision of creating a culture of health and safety, environmental protection and security in all aspects of its operations. The Management of SCIPSI believes that effective management of occupational health and safety, environment and security issues is an important strategy for improving total business performance.

To realize this vision, SCIPSI is committed to:

  • Provide a safe and healthy working condition for the prevention of work related injury and or ill health and is appropriate to the purpose, the size and context of the organization and specific nature of its OHSES risks and OHSES opportunities by:
    •  Applying best practice occupational health and safety, environment and security techniques and operational control systems designed to prevent injury and/or damage accidents, pollution to environment, loss of company assets and properties.
    • Providing adequate safeguard and protection of personnel, equipment, goods, information, reputation and other business interest with due respect for human rights and dignity.
    •  Providing and allocating resources to ensure effective functioning of Occupational Health and Safety, Environment and Security Management System. 
  • Provides a framework for setting the OHSES Objectives by
    • Integrating occupational health and safety, environment and security considerations into business planning, strategy formulation and operational decisions.
  • Fulfill legal requirements and other requirements.
  • Eliminate hazards and reduce OHSES risks by:
    • Identifying and assessing health and safety hazards, environmental aspects and impacts and security threats and risks and potential effects, establish objectives and targets and implement risk-based management programmes.
    • Assessing occupational health and safety, environment and security performance on a regular basis by maintaining effective monitoring, auditing and review systems, in order to continuously improve the Occupational health and Safety, Environment and Security Management System
  • Continual improvement of the OHSES management system by:
    • Providing training and improving the skills and knowledge of personnel to ensure work is carried out in the safest, most secured and environmentally responsible manner. 
  • Consultation and participation of workers and where they exist workers representatives by
    •  Ensuring maximum collaboration by all personnel in the implementation of the environmental, health and safety management system in the workplace through specific training activities.
    • Maintaining confidence of interested parties through clear communication, consultation and collaboration.
    • Promoting awareness on occupational health and safety, environment and security issues among company personnel and contractors.
